David Vence, MHI, MA, BS, RHIA, CPC, CRC Assistant Vice President, Professional Coding Support and Compliance Services David worked his way up through the health information environment and has experience in just about everything, including filing and analysis. However, his fine-tuned expertise is in professional coding and educating physicians on documentation requirements to support the care they delivered and their claims. Known for his great sense of humor, he is our firm’s internal comedian.
As AVP, David is the team leader of our professional coding and compliance specialists. Mr. Vence’s ProFee audit experience includes serving as a coding and documentation compliance auditor for a 350+ academic-based medical practice. His expertise in E&M compliance issues allows him to provide advice to our clients about over/undercoding, supervising physician, Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant services, cloning, level and modifier assignments, and a host of other ProFee issues.
Mr. Vence has worked with First Class Solutions, Inc. since 1997 and has never hesitated to travel to clients to help them with their coding backlogs and coding compliance needs. A graduate of Saint Louis University’s Health Information Management and Healthcare Informatics programs, David holds his B.S. and M.H.I. from the University and a M.A. degree from Webster University. He is the recipient of Saint Louis University’s Distinguished Service Award.
David is active in the American Academy of Professional Coders and the Missouri and American Health Information Management Associations. Mr. Vence has spoken on several occasions at national, regional, and local association meetings
